OUR TESTS

What types of tests do you offer?

We offer two types of tests:

1. Tests that can detect the virus directly (also called viral PCR tests)

2. Tests that check for your immune response (known as antibody tests)

How are the tests done?

Our tests can be done in the following ways:

1. Test samples are taken by yourself  via a home test kit which is delivered to your chosen address.  The test sample is then sent back for analysis to our laboratory.  Test results are received via encrypted email.

2.  Test samples are taken by a health care professional at a designated location (e.g. at your home or at your office).  The test sample is then sent back for analysis to our laboratory.  Test results are received via encrypted email.

Can I buy a test for my children?

The PCR Swab test is for adults and children.

The antibody test is only for adults aged 18 and over.

Can I buy a test if I live outside of the UK?

Our service is for UK residents only.

It is 100% sensitive and 99% specific.

How does the test work?

The Covid-19 antibody test requires a finger prick blood sample to be collected and sent back to our accredited UK laboratory for testing.

What is the accuracy level of the test?

The test has 99.9% sensitivity for presence of antibodies .

What does the test kit contain?

Inside your home testing package, you will find:

  • A finger prick blood collection device
  • A pathology form

What does a positive Covid-19 antibody test mean?

A positive antibody result means you have developed antibodies against Covid-19.

This means that you have had the virus or been exposed to the virus.

However, it is not yet known if having Covid-19 antibodies means that you have immunity, or for how long the immunity may continue. Therefore, continue to follow Public Health guidance about social distancing and hand washing.

What does a negative Covid-19 antibody test mean?

A negative antibody result means you have not developed antibodies against Covid-19.

This could be because:

  • You have not been infected by the virus up until a week before the sample was taken
  • The blood test was performed too early after you got the infection (less than 14 days)
  • You have been infected but have not mounted a significant immune response to the infection.
